By a Thread employs a technique of unweaving to show critically endangered native animals in a state of disappearance with ghost imagery remaining on the warp threads. Inspired by the captive breeding and species recovery programs being carried out by Zoos Victoria, the images are drawn from the Zoos' archive of some of Australia’s most endangered species. The ten works exhibited in the show 'Listed', form part of a larger series By a Thread, each of which highlights an individual animal selected to represent a specific species.
