The international studio at Queens College, University of Melbourne is literally in a tower with high vaulted ceilings and gothic windows framing 360 degree views across Melbourne and beyond. After much enjoyable contemplation of the space and the views, I spent much of my time looking at the trees in the grounds of the college. This work traces the patterns, textures and nuances of the bark of selected native and European trees.
